Hi, I’m Rondi Lauterbach and I’ve been Mark’s wife for thirty-eight years.
I’m glad you stopped in to see what this blog is about. It’s about figuring out that I am hungry, not just physically but spiritually. It’s about finding food that nourishes not just my body, but my soul. It’s about learning to eat God’s word, not just read it.
Thirty-eight years ago I was muddling through my early Christian life first as a newlywed and then as a young mother, surviving rather than thriving. My intermittent devotions and mood driven Bible reading amounted to a subsistence diet. I was starving myself without realizing it.
My husband saw it first. He observed my floundering faith and connected it to my spiritual eating habits. I’ll never forget the day he asked, “Honey, what kind of woman do you want to be in 5 years? 10 years? 25 years? Don’t just dip into Scripture to get through your day, get to know God through his Word and watch him transform your life.”
That day birthed a long term vision for the kind of personal, daily Bible study that would feed my soul. Thirty-eight years later, through 1 marriage, 3 children, 4 grandchildren, serving 6 churches, and 11 moves, I’m certain of this:
Our Father loves to feed us with Christ.
Let’s learn how to feed on him together.
